Ombudsman Educational Services, a Chance Light Education brand, seeks a Teacher for our alternative education program serving middle and high school students. You will deliver standards-based, credit-bearing instruction in a small, structured setting for students who have dropped out, are at risk, or need a nontraditional environment. Responsibilities include planning personalized lessons, managing behavior, tracking progress, supporting IEPs, and collaborating with district partners.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver standards-based, credit-bearing instruction for alternative education middle and high school students.
  • Create individualized learning plans and adjust instruction to meet diverse academic and behavioral needs.
  • Implement effective classroom and behavior management strategies in a safe, structured environment.
  • Assess student progress using formative and summative assessments and maintain accurate records.
  • Collaborate with school districts, counselors, and support staff to align goals and services.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and district partners regarding student progress.
  • Support IEP implementation and accommodations in collaboration with special education teams.
  • Use instructional technology and digital tools to support personalized learning.
  • Participate in professional development focused on at-risk youth, behavior support, and trauma-informed practices.
  • Contribute to a student-centered, mission-driven school culture focused on graduation and life success.
