Overview Job Summary
This is an open-ranked full-time teaching position in the BSN program. Teaching responsibilities include didactic, clinical and/or lab, and/or simulation. Prior teaching experience in an academic nursing program is preferred.
Purpose/Scope of Responsibilities:Educates students in: professional nursing courses by providing instructional experiences that support mission and goals of University and/or program
Assesseseducationaloutcomesandusesdatatorevisecurriculumandinstructionalmethodologywithgoalof ensuringcompetententry-levelpractitionersandgoodcitizens.
Undertheadministrativedirectionofthe Academic Deanand /orgeneraldirectionofthe
Program
Chair.
Facilitatesthecreation ofalearning environment for student instruction that encouragescriticalthinking, investigation,self-direction and respect for the uniqueness andstrengthsof each individual.
Advisesandtutorsstudentsand evaluatesacademicprogressionofstudentsinmeetingrequirementsfortheprogramofstudyandinaccomplishingprogramoutcomes.
- Master’s Degree in the teaching or professional discipline or in a related discipline with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline plus work or teaching experience equivalent to three (3) years of college teaching in the discipline; or
- Master’s Degree in a related or academically appropriate discipline and the terminal degree/certificate in the professional discipline plus work or teaching experience equivalent to three (3) years of college teaching in the discipline; or
- Earned doctorate from an accredited institution in the teaching or professional discipline and evidence of potential ability in instruction;
- Good character, mature attitude and stable personality;
- Promise of excellence in teaching and in scholarly or creative works;
- Participation in professional organizations;
- Growth towards academic maturity.
- Current license/certification to practice in the State of Tennessee as appropriate to professional practice areas.
- Master’s Degree in the teaching or professional discipline or in a related discipline plus thirty (30) semester hours beyond the Master’s in the teaching discipline or an academically appropriate discipline with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline, plus work or teaching experience equivalent to four (4) years of college teaching in the discipline; or
- Master’s Degree in a related or academically appropriate discipline and the terminal degree/certificate in the professional discipline plus work or teaching experience equivalent to four (4) years of college teaching in the discipline; or
- Earned doctorate from an accredited institution in the teaching or professional discipline or in a related or academically appropriate area with a minimum of eighteen (18) graduate semester hours in the teaching discipline plus work or teaching experience equivalent to four (4) years of college teaching in the discipline;
- Minimum of three (3) years at the academic rank of Instructor or equivalent. Good character, mature attitude and stable personality;
- Evidence of excellence in teaching and in scholarly or creative works;
