We’re seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to serve as a technical leader and trusted advisor on complex structural projects. In this role, you will lead design efforts from concept through construction, partner closely with clients, provide technical oversight to project teams, and support the growth and development of junior engineers. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned engineer who enjoys both hands‑on technical work and leadership responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead and Engineer of Record on structural projects, providing design direction and quality oversight.
- Collaborate with clients to understand project goals and develop creative, practical, and code‑compliant structural solutions.
- Review, approve, and seal engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications in accordance with applicable codes and standards.
- Mentor junior engineers, offering guidance, reviews, and support for professional development.
- Participate in business development efforts, including proposal support, presentations, and client relationship building.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, and external consultants throughout design and construction.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or related field).
- 10+ years of progressive structural engineering experience.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Proven experience designing structural systems including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood.
- Strong knowledge of codes and standards such as ASCE 7, ACI, AISC, and IBC.
Skills & Abilities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Detail‑oriented, analytical, and solution‑focused approach to design challenges.
- Proficient in structural analysis and design software; familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, RISA, Ener Calc, or similar tools.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Familiarity with construction practices and field conditions; willing to perform site visits as needed.
- Motivated, adaptable, and committed to ongoing professional growth.
