Role Overview
This role supports all areas of the engineering department, with a primary focus on data infrastructure and cloud‑server management across our nationwide installations. We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Sys Admin, or Dev Ops professional with 3+ years of relevant experience. While the position is ideally based in Memphis, TN, we are open to remote candidates located in CST, MST, or PST time zones.
PrimaryResponsibilities
Cloud, Server, and Database Management
- Maintain and enhance cloud‑based servers, including communication systems, databases, and web portals.
- Build and maintain production databases using an Azure SQL backend.
- Create APIs and related tools to support system integrations.
- Document cloud architecture, code, and system structure.
- Manage dashboards, including bug fixes, user administration, and alert creation.
- Plan and implement enhancements to dashboard features and functionality.
- Develop and improve code used for quoting, energy analysis, and production documentation.
Data Analysis & Engineering Support
- Learn and optimize the SEEQ data‑historian and analysis toolset and explore alternative solutions.
- Create analytical tools to support engineering operations and improve efficiency.
- Pull, organize, and prepare site‑performance data for engineering review.
Cross‑Functional & R&D Collaboration
- Work closely with the Controls Engineer and other team members to implement changes in controller code and functionality.
- Support research and development efforts, including deploying new sensors and alerts.
- Direct and project‑manage third‑party development partners.
Documentation & IT Support
- Create instructional documentation for internal and external users.
- Provide general IT support to the team as needed.
Skills & Qualifications
Technical Expertise
- Experience with , C#.NET, and API web services.
- Knowledge of C, Java, Python, and other programming languages.
- Proficiency with SQL Server administration, development, and connection management.
- Strong understanding of Azure and other cloud platforms.
- Solid grasp of database design and maintenance principles.
- Experience with data‑analysis tools; SEEQ experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and the broader Office suite.
- Working knowledge of thermodynamics and heat‑transfer processes.
Professional & Interpersonal Skills
- Ability to create and interpret technical documents and diagrams.
- Strong written, verbal, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Hands‑on learner, comfortable in both field and office environments.
- Effective collaborator with customers, field staff, management, and internal teams.
- Capable of working independently or within a team environment.
- Adaptable to shifting responsibilities and changing priorities.
- Consistently sets and meets goals and deadlines.
