Hyosung HICO is seeking to fill a Facilities Maintenance Engineer position. The ideal candidate will prepare mechanical equipment descriptions, performs equipment sizing and prepares data sheets, and selection criteria.

THE ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING:

  • Develops project objectives by reviewing project proposals and plans - conferring with management, determines project responsibilities by identifying project phases and elements-assigning personnel to phases and elements
  • Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends - recommending actions, contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, Estimation of resources, cost, manpower required for specific project
  • Prepares mechanical equipment technical specifications drawings, P&n and equipment RFQs to request budgetary or firm pricing to support estimating or project department.
  • Performs technical analysis of bids and review of vendor drawings.
  • Preparation of calculations including, hydraulics, ASME Calc, piping sizing, control valve and equipment sizing, pressure drop calculations, structural calculation etc.
  • Assures all mechanical engineering designs meet applicable local, state & federal codes and standards including company standards, API, ASME as well as others used in static and rotating equipment mechanical design and development for petro/chemical and mid‑stream gas processing, general industry, and utilities.
  • Trouble‑shoot existing systems in the facility, determine modifications to existing systems to change performance, etc.
  • Coordinates with internal clients, vendors and subcontractors as required
  • Keeps current with advances in technology in the marketplace.
  • Maintain strict compliance and technical support with Quality Assurance and Quality Control processes.
  • Collaborate with plant engineers to develop equipment and tooling justifications, quotation requests, acceptance criteria, purchasing documentation. Review quotations, support vendor selections, and ensure tooling and equipment received meets acceptance criteria, quality expectations, and is installed and commissioned per schedule.
  • Develop and implement approved improvement projects involving process control, equipment, capacity and productivity targeting quality, cost and delivery performance.
  • Assist production supervisors in trouble‑shooting process and quality problems related to equipment. Perform root cause analysis, develop and implement countermeasures based on PDCA process.
  • Write work instructions and assist in training of work instructions for all transformer processing equipment.
  • Develop specifications for new equipment, TPM requirements and operating work instructions.
  • Work with plant engineers & maintenance supervisor to develop PM data for current and new equipment.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections to track equipment performance and compliance with safety regulations.
