Job Responsibilities
Automation Engineer with Nucor Steel Memphis, Inc. based at 3601 Paul R. Lowry Road, Memphis, TN. The role focuses on driving innovation and efficiency in steel production processes through automation solutions.
Responsibilities include:
leveraging engineering principles, algorithms, and automation techniques to troubleshoot, optimize, and automate processes; ensuring reliable data transfer and integrity; designing and monitoring performance indicators via interactive reports; improving production efficiency, steel quality, sales performance, and reliability; developing and optimizing stored procedures for data processing automation; working with communication protocols for effective integration of automation systems; modernizing legacy software and establishing coding standards;
collaborating with production teams to provide automation tools; leading projects on machine learning model development for quality control and anomaly detection; integrating automation tools with ERP/MES systems; and pioneering AI‑powered predictive maintenance using Tensor Flow.
The position pays a base hourly rate of $20.18 per hour plus production bonuses, which often approach or exceed the base rate, resulting in compensation exceeding $100,000 annually.
