Regulatory Compliance & Management Systems
- Ensure the plant’s strict adherence to all applicable EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, TOSHA, DOT, etc.).
- Maintain and continuously improve the site's Integrated Management System, including ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 certifications.
- Lead all internal and external EHS audits and inspections, managing all findings to closure.
- Develop, implement, and oversee comprehensive safety programs (LOTO, PSM, Hazard Communication, Electrical Safety, etc.).
- Conduct risk assessments (JHA, PHA), incident investigations (root cause analysis), and track corrective actions.
- Lead the plant’s safety committee and drive employee engagement in safety initiatives.
- Manage all environmental programs, including air permitting, wastewater, waste management (RCRA), and stormwater.
- Ensure accurate and timely submission of all environmental reports to agencies.
- Identify and lead projects to reduce the plant's environmental footprint.
- Develop and deliver effective EHS training for all employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Champion a strong, visible “Safety First” culture through daily interactions, campaigns, and recognition programs.
- Develop and maintain the site’s emergency response plans and procedures.
- Organize and lead emergency drills (fire, chemical spill, etc.) and act as a key responder for incidents.
- Establish and track key EHS performance indicators (TRIR, LTIR, near-misses, environmental incidents).
- Prepare regular EHS performance reports for plant and corporate management.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, or a related field. CSP or CIH certification is highly preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive EHS management experience in a chemical, pharmaceutical, or high-hazard manufacturing environment. Direct experience with US regulatory agencies is required.
- Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, RCRA, and other relevant US regulations. Experience in a chemical processing plant is essential.
- Skills: Excellent leadership, communication, and influencing skills. Proven ability to lead change, drive culture, and manage projects. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Language: Fluent in English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
