Job Summary

Provide optimum test solutions and strategies through the effective management of people, systems, procedures and equipment. Drive innovation and continuous improvement within Test Engineering-LFF (Large Factor Form) by harnessing new technologies in the areas of systems, equipment, and processes. Provide exceptional support to customers, team members, and shareholders.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Communicate criteria to recruiters for Test Engineer and Test Management position candidates.
  • Monitor team member turnover; identify key factors that can be improved; make improvements.
  • Create and manage succession plans for Test Engineering and Test Management functions.
  • Establish clear measurable goals and objectives by which to determine individual and team results (i.e. operational metrics, results against project timelines, training documentation, attendance records, knowledge of operational roles and responsibilities, personal development goals).
  • Solicit ongoing feedback cross-functionally to peers and team members. Provide ongoing coaching and counseling to team members based on feedback.
  • Drive individuals and the team to continuously improve in key operational metrics and the achievement of the organizational goals.
  • Know and understand the campus strategic directions to align with corporate strategies.
  • Define, develop and implement Test Engineering strategies which contribute to the campus strategic directions.
  • Develop an understanding of the Workcell business strategy as it pertains to Test Engineering.
  • Provide regular updates to cross-functionally on the execution of the strategies for internal and external customers.
  • Identify creative ways to reduce cost by streamlining processes and systems (i.e. modification of responsibilities or consolidation of tasks, elimination of non-value-added processes, or complete re-engineering of processes and systems).
  • Prepare timely forecasts for the department, comparing current and past forecasts when needed.

  • Drive continuous improvement through trend reporting analysis and metrics management.
  • Assure that procedures and work instructions are efficient and not redundant.
  • Offer new ideas and suggestions for improvement. Identify and implement new practices and processes.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to customer service; anticipate, meet, and exceed expectations by solving problems quickly and effectively; making customer issues a priority.
  • Assist with other Workcells when needed or help during product launches.
  • Establish new measurement systems if/where possible.
  • Exchange knowledge and information with other Jabil facilities to ensure best practices are shared throughout the Jabil organization.
  • Ensure 100% adherence to all company policies and procedures (i.e. Health and Safety, Quality).
  • Evaluate customer test strategies and recommend appropriate test solutions to support customer requests.
  • Drive the development of specialized test equipment and software.
  • Manage the procurement of test equipment.
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Job Qualifications Knowledge Requirements
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Advanced PC skills required.
  • Proficiency in use of personal computers, Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and e-mail skills required.
Education & Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Manufacturing Engineering or other similar related discipline required.
  • Minimum of 7 years work-related experience in a non-software Testing environment, experience with hardware testing required.
  • Minimum of 5 years management experience strongly preferred or a combination of education, experience and/or training.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 20%
