Shell Renewable Asset Management International (SRAMI) manages operations and technical support of a 2+ gigawatt global portfolio of onshore solar, wind, battery storage, and gas‑fired generation assets located in the Netherlands, Oman, Italy, the United Kingdom, Japan, and the United States, with expectations to grow the managed flexible generation portfolio.

The position reports to the Global Engineering Manager and sits within the central, multidisciplinary engineering team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct safety site walkthroughs, provide visible leadership and mentoring to site personnel, and participate in safety meetings and initiatives.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of relevant rules, regulations, and standards to keep field personnel safe and manage asset integrity.
  • Establish and assure relevant process safety controls across the fleet of gas‑fired generating assets.
  • Develop, implement, and refine through‑life asset maintenance strategies for rotating equipment across the gas‑fired generating assets.
  • Provide SME support to global and regional site operations and maintenance teams on issues related to gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors, and other balance‑of‑plant rotating equipment.
  • Support root‑cause analysis and work with OEMs to implement effective corrective and preventative action plans.
  • Collaborate on turnaround planning with O&M providers and OEMs to deliver maintenance turnarounds on schedule, budget and quality while achieving expected HSSE performance.
  • Lead the MTO standard application across the gas‑fired generation portfolio to create cost‑effective action plans for target availability and reliability.
  • Develop reliability improvements and proactively resolve equipment reliability problems that impact overall asset performance.
  • Provide technical support and assurance oversight to ensure operational assets comply with all local regulatory requirements.
  • Lead Management of Change processes and design changes according to Shell Group practices.
  • Offer day‑to‑day technical support and guidance to site operations teams as required by maintenance, operational interruptions and troubleshooting needs.
  • Integrate across engineering disciplines, functional teams and stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
Required Qualifications and Skills
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. on a full‑time basis.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aeronautical or related engineering (preferred).
  • Minimum 5 years of direct experience in O&M of rotating equipment.
  • Minimum 5 years of contractor management experience in an operational environment (experience as a Contract Holder preferred).
  • Experience with diverse OEM gas turbine fleet and associated plant auxiliary systems.
  • Project management and delivery skills with experience in maintenance program implementation and execution.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to articulate complex topics.
  • Proactive, can‑do attitude and willingness to learn new skills and take on challenges.
  • Ability to work within a global multidisciplinary team.
  • HSSE management knowledge, including safety leadership and compliance with HSSE performance framework.
  • Leadership capability to influence without managerial ties and to collaborate with 3rd‑party contractors.
  • Coaching, training and mentoring skills to develop competencies.
  • Technical expertise in engineering design standards for modifications and asset‑managed changes.
  • Experience in root‑cause analysis and causal investigation techniques.
  • Knowledge of commissioning, startup of gas/steam turbine equipment and auxiliary systems.
  • Knowledge of equipment control, condition monitoring, shutdown, safeguarding specifications.
  • Knowledge of mechanical equipment selection and QA/QC processes.
  • Ability to maintain performance standards and ensure compliance.
  • Experience supporting technical due diligence and lessons learned during acquisition or design/construction.
  • Contract management experience, including high‑value negotiations and acting as Contract Holder.
