Entry Level Project Coordinator / Project Engineer Overview

This role supports the project management team in planning and executing conveyor and material handling system projects. You will contribute to full-service mechanical and electrical solutions, including design, fabrication, installation, commissioning, maintenance, decommissioning, and system modernization for high-impact markets such as airports, parcel, postal, food and beverage, and warehousing and distribution. The position offers the opportunity to grow your project engineering and coordination skills while working on complex, modern logistics and infrastructure systems.

Responsibilities
  • Support the project management team with the planning and execution of conveyor and material handling system projects.
  • Perform material take-offs by reviewing drawings and prints to determine the exact materials, components, and quantities required to build the system.
  • Assist the Project Manager with day-to-day project coordination activities and proactively develop your project engineering and coordination skill set.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, field supervision, vendors, and management to ensure alignment on project scope, schedule, and deliverables.
  • Track multiple tasks and project activities simultaneously to help keep projects on schedule and within scope.
  • Use Microsoft Office tools, including Excel, to prepare and maintain project documentation, reports, and tracking logs.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings to support accurate planning, installation, and commissioning activities.
  • Contribute to problem solving and issue resolution during design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.
  • Support communication internally and externally to ensure stakeholders remain informed about project progress and changes.
  • Participate in continuous learning and training to close skill gaps and enhance your capabilities in project engineering and coordination.
Essential Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • 0 to 4 years of experience in project engineering, construction, engineering, conveyor systems, or related project coordination roles.
  • Experience or strong interest in project engineering and project coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings and prints.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across engineering, field supervision, vendors, and management.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both internally and externally.
  • Ability to track multiple tasks and manage competing priorities.
  • Strong problem‑solving and organizational capabilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel.

  • Exposure to conveyor and material handling systems.
  • Experience supporting assistant project managers, project engineers, or project coordinators.
  • Interest in working on design‑build projects for baggage handling and material handling systems.

The role is based on a job site in Memphis, supporting complex design‑build projects in both new and operating facilities.
