What You’ll DoAs a Fire Sprinkler Designer / CAD Drafter, you’ll play a critical role in protecting people and property by producing accurate, code‑compliant system designs that support our Fire Protection and low‑voltage teams.
Key Responsibilities- Embody State Systems’ mission of protecting life and property in every project.
- Demonstrate knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures using AutoCAD and other CAD platforms.
- Prepare project drawings, specifications, and schematics.
- Design layouts, perform field checks, create fabrication listings, material and equipment submittals, calculations, installation requirements, and close‑out documentation.
- Ensure all designs comply with NFPA standards and maintain scope of company obligations.
- Support both Fire Protection and Low Voltage projects.
- Coordinate with project managers to ensure compliance with all Federal, State, and local codes.
- Interact professionally with customers, vendors, and coworkers.
- Utilize Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for documentation and communication.
- Maintain organization, accuracy, and efficiency across multiple projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- 2+ years of CAD experience.
- 2+ years using Windows‑based AutoCAD design software.
- 1–2 years of Fire Sprinkler / Life Safety design experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook (2+ years).
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to prioritize responsibilities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Professional communication skills and collaborative mindset.
- Ability to work seated at a desk for a standard eight‑hour workday.
- Compensation based on education, experience, and credentials.
- Schedule:
Full‑time, Monday–Friday, 8‑hour shifts. - Payment Frequency:
Biweekly. - Supplemental Pay:
Referral Bonus.
