Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing Engineers located in Memphis, TN. In this position, you will design and develop mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for building projects, including preparing calculations, layouts, and construction documents. You will coordinate with internal team members and external partners to ensure integrated MEP solutions, review drawings for accuracy, and support clash detection and resolution.
Daily responsibilities include performing load calculations, equipment selection, code and standards research, and responding to contractor RFIs during construction. You will also participate in project meetings, assist with site visits and field surveys, and contribute to continuous improvement of design standards and best practices.
- Strong knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems for building services, including design principles and applicable codes.
- Experience with Plumbing and Building Services design, including piping layouts, fixture selection, and coordination with other trades.
- Proficiency in Electrical Engineering for buildings, including power distribution, lighting, and related safety and code requirements.
- MEP coordination skills, including interdisciplinary collaboration, clash detection, and integration of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Building Systems Engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Ability to read and produce construction drawings using CAD/BIM tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, or similar software).
- Familiarity with relevant building codes and standards (e.g., IBC, NEC, IMC, IPC, ASHRAE) and willingness to stay current with updates.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills, with attention to detail and quality in documentation.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
- Professional engineering licensure (PE/EIT) or progress toward licensure is preferred but not required.
