Contract Role | Project Control Specialist in Memphis TN
Duration: 1 year contract with possible extension Pay Range: $60 - 75/hour on w2
Job DescriptionDevelop and implement standard methods for project performance monitoring, reporting, analysis, trend assessment, scheduling, and estimating. Facilitate programs to ensure the establishment and analysis of specific operational and process improvement plans used for goal setting, project cost and benefit estimates, performance indicators and targets, benchmarking, baselining, and trending.
Assist in the development and approval of project contracts and revisions thereto; prepare and obtain approval for contractor work authorizations (CWA) and related revisions. Monitor expenditures for usage trends, issues, and variances. Lead and manage processes to ensure integrity, resolve pending or outstanding requests, and reconcile encumbrances and tasks with financial systems as required.
Provide project cost and schedule performance analyses, along with recommendations to improve outcomes, to project managers and engineers. Perform cost-benefit analyses and enter data into the project justification system database. Prepare project approval packages and all associated documentation.
Support project managers, engineers, and line organizations in developing project budgets and establishing reporting structures. Monitor and forecast performance against both short-term performance plans and long-range project objectives. Assist in developing project work breakdown and sequencing structures that support risk management, efficient resource allocation, and critical path identification.
Ensure that project milestones and resource requirements (man-hours and costs) are properly loaded into applicable cost and scheduling tools. Use these tools to level resources across projects. Conduct schedule review meetings and participate in scheduling sessions during scoping workshops.
Carry out special studies such as project forecasting and operations and maintenance (O&M) projects. Research, prepare, and submit fixed assets accounting classification requests for formal determination of capital projects. Provide written project closure notifications and perform root cause analysis to explain cost, schedule, and performance variances.
