We are seeking a Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineer with 3‑5+ years of experience to support the design and development of production equipment, fixtures, and custom fabricated products. This role will be responsible for designing racks, jigs, fixtures, and tooling while creating detailed manufacturing drawings from both internally developed concepts and customer‑supplied prints as well as reverse engineering.
Key Responsibilities- Design and develop racks, jigs, fixtures, tooling, and other custom manufacturing solutions.
- Reverse engineer products, parts, or designs based on customer supplied samples or existing racks, jigs, fixtures, and tooling when applicable.
- Create, revise, and maintain detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
- Interpret customer‑supplied drawings, specifications, and requirements for production.
- Generate 3D models and fabrication drawings using Solid Works or similar CAD software.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to ensure designs are optimized for production, quality, and cost.
- Support fabrication processes including laser cutting, forming, welding, machining, and assembly.
- Perform design reviews and implement continuous improvements to existing products and processes.
- Work directly with customers, sales, and production personnel to resolve technical issues and clarify requirements.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, safety requirements, and company procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related engineering discipline (experience without a degree will be considered).
- 3‑5+ years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
- Proficiency in Solid Works preferred; equivalent 3D CAD experience will be considered.
- Experience creating detailed fabrication and assembly drawings.
- Strong understanding of steel manufacturing processes, including:
- Laser cutting
- Press brake forming
- Welding and weldments
- Fabrication and assembly techniques
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and customer specifications.
- Strong problem‑solving, communication, and project management skills.
- Experience designing production tooling, fixtures, and material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing workflows.
- Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
- Experience working directly with customers on custom‑engineered solutions.
