Pay Rate: $20.00+ per hour Depending on Experience

We've partnered with a leading Memphis-area manufacturer seeking an AutoCAD Operator to support a team of mechanical design engineers by creating detailed technical drawings for industrial systems and components. This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with drafting experience who enjoy problem-solving, technical design, and working in a collaborative environment.
EducationRequirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate degree or technical degree in Drafting, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred
- Minimum 1 year of 2D AutoCAD experience required
- Experience reading and interpreting technical drawings, weld symbols, and tolerances
- Knowledge of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes preferred
- Experience with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) software preferred
- Familiarity with 3D CAD software such as Solid Works, CATIA, or similar is a plus
- Strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
- Create detailed shop fabrication drawings using 2D AutoCAD
- Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation
- Utilize standard drafting symbols, tolerances, and weld notes
- Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) using PLM software
- Select purchased components based on project specifications
- Calculate material and part weights
- Support engineering teams with drawing revisions and documentation
- Track project schedules and ensure drafting deliverables are completed on time
- Maintain accuracy and compliance with design and manufacturing standards
- Ability to sit and/or stand for up to 8 hours per day
- Frequent computer and keyboard use
- Ability to perform detailed visual inspection of drawings and documentation
