Senior Designer, CAD
Join Stryker's Trauma & Extremities team as a Senior Designer, CAD, supporting new product development for Foot & Ankle orthopedic instruments and implants. Trauma | Stryker
In this role, you will create 3D models, assemblies, technical drawings, and documentation while partnering with R&D engineers to turn concepts and design inputs into production-ready CAD solutions.
This role is based in Memphis, TN, with a hybrid workstyle.
What You Will Do- Design and maintain 3D CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings for orthopedic instruments and implants using established engineering and drafting standards.
- Develop components, subsystems, tooling, fixtures, and related documentation to support concept development, prototyping, testing, and production release.
- Create, route, and release engineering documentation, including engineering change requests and design revisions, while meeting quality and regulatory requirements.
- Review technical drawings, bills of materials, and product documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with established standards.
- Apply geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) principles to support manufacturability, inspection, and product quality.
- Lead CAD-related activities for cross-functional product development teams during ideation, design reviews, testing, and prototype evaluations.
- Analyze design inputs and technical requirements to develop effective CAD solutions and support design decision-making.
- Provide training, guidance, and technical support on product lifecycle management (PLM), CAD tools, and documentation processes.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma and 6+ years of relevant design experience; OR associate degree and 4+ years of relevant design experience; OR bachelor's degree.
- 2+ years of experience using three-dimensional Computer-Aided Design software.
- Experience with Creo 3D CAD software.
- Experience creating and maintaining technical drawings and engineering documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Windchill, 1
PLM, or another product lifecycle management system; transferable PLM or lifecycle management experience will be considered. - Experience applying engineering drafting standards or GD&T principles.
- Experience supporting medical device, orthopedic, regulated product, aerospace, automotive, industrial manufacturing, or consumer product development environments.
- $72,500 - $120,900 USD Annual
