Director of Stadium & Events
The Director of Stadium & Events is responsible for overseeing external event coordination, parking operations, partnership engagement, and stadium event logistics for Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium. Reporting directly to the Assistant Stadium Manager, this position leads venue utilization initiatives, operational planning, and external event coordination while maintaining strong relationships with community, corporate, and external partners.
Approximately 30% of this role focuses on event and partnership coordination, including collaboration with the Memphis Chamber of Commerce, Memphis Sports Council, Liberty Park, University of Memphis departments, tourism agencies, promoters, sponsors, and community organizations.
Approximately 20% of this role focuses on coordinating parking operations at Liberty Park, including event parking logistics, traffic flow coordination, and collaboration with parking vendors and public safety personnel.
Approximately 20% of this role focuses on supervision and leadership responsibilities, including direct oversight of the Associate Director of Stadium & Events and coordination of daily operational priorities. The remaining responsibilities are evenly split between stadium operations support and event execution to ensure successful event delivery and exceptional guest experiences.
About Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium:
Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium is a 136-acre multi-purpose sports and entertainment complex centered around the iconic stadium in Memphis, Tennessee. Previously known as Liberty Bowl Memorial Stadium, the venue opened in 1965 as Memphis Memorial Stadium. The stadium serves as the home venue for the Memphis Tigers Football program, Southern Heritage Classic, Auto Zone Liberty Bowl, and Memphis Showboats of the UFL.
Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium is currently completing a $220 million renovation that will further position the venue as a premier destination for college football, entertainment, and major events.
Initial screening will begin Thursday, July 23, 2026 and will occur every Thursday thereafter until filled.
ResponsibilitiesEvent & Partnership Coordination Assist with stadium event development initiatives focused on increasing venue utilization and external event opportunities. Oversight of stadium events and activations with promoters, event organizers, sponsors, and community partners. Support partnership coordination efforts with the Memphis Chamber of Commerce, Memphis Sports Council, Liberty Park, University of Memphis departments, tourism agencies, and community organizations. Collaborates with the Director, Stadium Sales with outreach and relationship management efforts to support new and returning events.
Coordinate planning meetings and communication with external stakeholders. Assist in preparing event proposals, presentations, operational documents, and partnership materials. Represent Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium at meetings, networking events, and community functions when assigned. Collaborate with internal departments to support event marketing, logistics, and guest experience initiatives.
Parking Operations Coordination Coordinate parking operations for events at Liberty Park and Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium. Work with parking vendors, event staff, public safety personnel, and traffic management teams to ensure efficient parking operations. Manage the planning of ingress and egress traffic flow for events. Coordinate parking logistics for external events, game days, and special events. Support development of parking plans, staffing coordination, and operational communication.
Monitor parking operations during events and assist with troubleshooting operational issues.
Staff Supervision & Leadership Supervise and provide leadership to all Stadium & Events employees including gameday workers. Assist with setting operational priorities, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring project timelines.
