Director of Accounting

Description We are looking for an experienced Director of Accounting to lead and oversee financial operations in Memphis, Tennessee. This role is pivotal in ensuring the organization's financial integrity and strategic management of accounting practices. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in financial reporting, compliance, and leadership to drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities:

- Supervise and maintain accounting systems, controls, and standards to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.

- Lead all financial activities, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, purchasing, payroll, and risk management.

- Oversee human resources and employee benefits programs to ensure proper administration and alignment with organizational policies.

- Manage the preparation and execution of annual operating budgets and capital expenditure plans.

- Monitor and report cash flow activities to support strategic financial planning.

- Develop and distribute accurate monthly financial reports to inform decision-making.

- Ensure the timely completion of month-end close processes to maintain financial integrity.

- Collaborate with auditors to facilitate financial statement audits and ensure compliance.

- Work closely with banking institutions to manage transactions and optimize financial operations.

- Provide leadership to the accounting team, fostering growth and strong attention to detail in development. Requirements

- Minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting or financial management roles.

- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is preferred.

- Proficiency in month-end close processes

- Strong expertise in preparing and analyzing financial statements.

- Demonstrated success in managing financial audits and ensuring compliance.

- Knowledge of risk management and employee benefits programs.

- Excellent leadership and communication skills to guide teams and collaborate effectively.

- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results under tight deadlines.
