Location: Memphis, TN (Hybrid Memphis/Nashville)
Position Summary:This position will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company’s operations, including hospitality management and real estate investment portfolios. This role will provide strategic financial leadership, ensure fiscal responsibility, and support the company’s growth and profitability objectives. This position also directly oversees the corporate accounting team members.
Key Responsibilities:- Partner with the CEO and executive team to develop and execute long-term financial strategies aligned with business goals.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to support decision-making across hospitality operations and investment initiatives.
- Oversee all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, USALI, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee production of timely and accurate financial statements and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage cash flow, banking relationships, and financing arrangements.
- Implement and maintain financial internal control policies.
- Oversee the internal audit function to ensure compliance, risk management, and integrity of financial processes.
- Ensure compliance with tax laws, financial regulations, and corporate governance standards.
- Manage all external audit engagements to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist with creation of annual budgets and related policies.
- Oversee completion of sales, occupancy, and business tax returns.
- Serve as primary finance liaison for external stakeholders, including owner/investors, lenders, and brokers.
- Lead and develop a high-performing finance and accounting team.
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's and/or Master’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA designation strongly preferred.
- 10–15 years of progressive financial leadership experience, including 5+ years in a senior executive role within hospitality, real estate, or investment sectors.
- Experience in multi-property hospitality operations.
- Understanding of hospitality-specific financial metrics (RevPAR, ADR, occupancy).
- Knowledge of financial systems/platforms such as Profit Sword, M3, and Hotel Effectiveness.
- Grasp of tax planning, compliance, and regulatory frameworks.
- Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High level of integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
