- Track and account for leased fleet assets, including acquisition, depreciation, impairment, and disposal
- Monitor lease agreements for proper classification (operating vs. finance leases)
- Partner with operations to ensure accurate asset records and alignment with physical inventory
- Analyze profitability of leasing arrangements and provide recommendations
- Prepare financial analyses, forecasts, and variance reports for leadership
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes related to fleet operations
- Evaluate trends in lease performance, utilization rates, and cost management
- Assist in developing KPIs for fleet financial performance
- Ensure adherence to internal controls and company policies
- Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation
- Maintain compliance with tax regulations and reporting requirements related to leased assets
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
- Partner with FP&A, operations, and procurement teams
- Provide guidance to junior accounting staff as needed
- Assist with system implementations or upgrades related to lease accounting or asset management
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in leasing, transportation, or asset-heavy industries
- Strong knowledge of lease accounting (ASC 842 required)
- CPA or CPA-eligible strongly preferred
- Proficiency in ERP systems (Karmak is a plus).
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis)
- Experience with lease accounting software is a plus
- Strong understanding of fixed asset accounting
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
- Process improvement mindset with a focus on efficiency
- Occasional involvement in strategic finance initiatives
