A Brief Overview
The Financial Analyst II assists the CFO and Directors in providing and accumulating financial data for the preparation of monthly financial statements for the assigned hospital and/or MLH entities. The role includes budget preparation and analysis of financial reports, operating under moderate supervision.
What you will do- Provides analysis of financial data, including financial reporting, trend analysis, proformas, and forecasts, and monitors key financial metrics.
- Assists Directors and Associates with financial matters and supports senior leadership in obtaining accurate decision‑making information.
- Performs month‑end processes: communicates and coordinates with internal customers, records financial and statistical journal entries, completes balance‑sheet reconciliations, and reviews financial reports.
- Prepares, maintains, and analyzes monthly and annual financial reports, presenting findings to leadership as needed.
- Collaborates with department leaders on development and analysis of operating and capital budgets, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day financial operations by tracking resource utilization and staffing plans.
- Performs special projects as assigned.
- Demonstrates effective customer‑relationship skills, promotes a positive work environment, and contributes to overall team effort.
- Applies and supports departmental and company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Performs other job functions as assigned or requested.
- Required – Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration/Management
- Preferred – Bachelor’s Degree in Finance
- Preferred – Bachelor’s Degree in Healthcare Administration
- Required – 3 to 5 years in Finance or Business
Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of computer accounting applications, including general ledger, operations reports, and financial statement preparation and analysis.
- Solid skills with standard office technologies (computer, fax machine, copier) and software such as word processing, spreadsheets (Excel), and other related programs.
- High proficiency in verbal and written communication and interpersonal relations with all levels of management.
- Skill and proficiency in applying customer service principles, concepts, and techniques.
- Ability to work without close supervision and exercise independent judgment.
- Ability to organize multiple tasks and maintain workflow control.
- Willingness to work overtime during fiscal‑year end and budget preparation periods.
- Ability to handle time pressures and deadlines.
- Knowledge and experience in leading and facilitating projects.
- Effective collaborative skills.
- There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this position.
- Includes climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
- Requires good balance and coordination.
- Light work: exerting up to 25 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 10 lbs. of force frequently.
- Requires close visual acuity for data analysis, transcription, computer use, and extensive reading.
- Work is performed under general office conditions; not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
