Job Description
A client of Insight Global is seeking a Plant Controller to serve as the embedded financial leader for one of AAON’s major manufacturing facilities. This individual will act as the primary finance partner to the Plant Director and plant leadership team, leading budgeting, forecasting, driver‑based modeling, and operational performance management. The ideal candidate has deep manufacturing finance experience, strong analytical capability, and the ability to influence cross‑functional teams in a fast‑paced, high‑change production environment.
This role is FP&A‑focused and partners closely with Cost Accounting, Operations, Supply Chain, and Engineering to translate plant performance into clear, actionable financial insights. This position is on‑site and is considered a critical operational finance role within AAON’s evolving finance structure.

- 8+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing finance, plant FP&A, cost/operations finance, or business partnering roles
- Proven experience owning plant‑level budgeting, forecasting, and driver‑based financial modeling
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex operational and financial data
- Experience producing variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast/prior), identifying root causes, and recommending actions
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain KPI dashboards and digital reporting tools used in daily/weekly/monthly operating rhythms
- Strong understanding of plant KPIs including labor efficiency, overhead absorption, scrap/rework, yield/throughput, inventory health, and margin performance
- Experience supporting standard cost governance, annual physical inventories, and cost‑reduction initiatives
- Ability to influence without authority and partner effectively with operations, supply chain, engineering, and accounting
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field (MBA, CPA, CMA preferred but not required)
- SAP proficiency strongly preferred (FI/CO or manufacturing modules)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate financial concepts for non‑finance leaders
- Ability to lead a small plant finance team while also operating as a hands‑on individual contributor
- Strong Excel proficiency; BI/reporting tool experience a plus
- Experience supporting multi‑site manufacturing operations
- Familiarity with standard cost setting, routings, and overhead allocation mechanics
- Exposure to working‑capital drivers, inventory accuracy/health metrics, and COGS behavior
- Experience with capex modeling, ROI analysis, and post‑investment benefit tracking
- Additional ERP or digital reporting tool experience
