Overview
This role provides Centralized Cardiac Monitoring support for patients across the hospital system from a corporate office setting, without direct patient interaction. The technician is responsible for interpreting cardiac rhythms, identifying abnormalities, and communicating findings to appropriate clinical personnel.
Responsibilities- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms for multiple patients across the health system using remote telemetry systems.
- Accurately interpret and document rhythm changes and arrhythmias.
- Promptly report abnormal findings to licensed clinical staff according to established protocols.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of monitoring data.
- Utilize advanced monitoring software and systems with a high degree of technical proficiency.
- Communicate effectively with clinical teams to ensure coordinated patient care.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
- Complete assigned goals and tasks as directed.
Minimum Required / Preferred:
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a cardiac monitoring or EKG technician program.
Minimum Required / Preferred:
On-the-job training in rhythm interpretation and monitoring systems. Formal training in cardiac monitoring.
Minimum Required / Preferred:
- Strong rhythm interpretation skills.
- High level of computer literacy.
- Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
Familiarity with hospital telemetry systems and electronic health records.
LicensureDescription Minimum Required Preferred/Desired: BLS certification within 14 days of hire. Certification in cardiac monitoring or EKG interpretation.
