The MRI Tech I is responsible for operating imaging equipment to perform procedures to a specified patient population and models appropriate behavior as exemplified in MLH Mission, Vision and Values. • Perform quality radiologic procedures using appropriate technical and safety methods.
• Assist in the development of others through guidance and teaching, promoting professional practice of all members of the radiological services team.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, compliance activities, and policies and procedures.
• Effectively manage resources such as supplies and equipment; plan work and complete job responsibilities in an efficient and productive manner.
• Demonstrate professional work behavior and excellent customer service routinely in all interactions.

• Technical Degree or Diploma in Radiology.

• No prior work experience.

• Basic knowledge of radiographic equipment and imaging procedures.
• Ability to effectively relate and communicate with internal and external customers.
• Basic knowledge of radiology information systems (RIS, HIS, and PACS preferred).

• BASIC LIFE SUPPORT – American Heart Association required.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists preferred.

• There are no supervisory or lead responsibilities assigned to this job, except that the incumbent may occasionally demonstrate various job responsibilities to other Associates and observe/instruct student technologists.

• Physical activities may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
• Must have good balance and coordination.
• Medium work – exerting up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and/or up to 25 lbs. of force frequently.
• Required close visual acuity including color, depth perception, and field of vision to perform activities such as assessing patients, preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; or extensive reading.
• Frequent invasive and non-invasive patient contact.
• Exposure to patient body fluids as well as hazardous or poisonous materials.
• Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.
