Rad Tech PRN | Union Minor Med | Shifts | Memphis

Overview

The Rad Tech II is responsible for operating radiographic equipment to perform diagnostic and other clinical exams as directed. The role also includes coaching student technologists and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and quality standards.

• Perform radiologic and other requested examinations on assigned patients.
• Determine technical and positioning factors and position the patient for the exam.
• Select proper radiographic factors to minimize radiation exposure.
• Explain procedures to patients and answer any questions or concerns.
• Collect specimens for drug screens and perform Blood Alcohol Tests and CLIA-waived tests.
• Perform patient intake activities, including checking and recording vital signs.
• Provide ongoing patient assessment through observation and record findings accurately and on time.
• Assist in the development of others through guidance and teaching.
• Promote professional practice of all members of the radiological services team.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and policies.
• Effectively manage resources such as supplies and equipment.
• Plan work and complete job responsibilities efficiently and productively.
• Demonstrate professional work behavior and excellent customer service routinely in all interactions.
• Perform other job functions as assigned or requested.

• Technical Degree or Diploma in Radiology.
• 3–5 years experience as a Rad Tech I (or equivalent).
• Strong clinical competencies in radiography imaging equipment and procedures.

• BASIC LIFE SUPPORT – American Heart Association.
• Breath Alcohol Technician – Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare.
• DOT Urine Specimen Collector – Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare.
• Registered Radiologic Technologist – American Registry of Radiologic Technologists.
• X‑Ray Operator in Mend (MD) Office, Tennessee – Tennessee Board of X‑Ray Operators.
• Preferred: X‑Ray Operator in Mend Office, Mississippi – Mississippi State Department of Health.

The position requires frequent walking, standing, and reaching. It involves climbing, pushing, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motions. The incumbent may need to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally. Good visual acuity (color, depth perception, field of vision) is essential. Frequent invasive and non‑invasive patient contact is expected.

There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position, except occasional demonstration, observation, coaching, and guidance of less experienced Rad Techs.
