Summary

This role will design, develop, implement, support and maintain LAN, MAN, WAN, WLAN, firewalls and monitoring systems in a global, multi‑cultural organization. The successful candidate should be very experienced and technically proficient across all areas of network engineering, with a strong team‑oriented attitude.

Responsibilities
  • Projects
    • Develop and translate conceptual ideas into feasible solutions with complete network designs.
    • Collate, understand and document contextual requirements and constraints using O365 tools and Visio.
    • Assist in the RFP/RFQ selection process with technical analysis of proposals.
    • Lead the planning, management and execution of projects, providing regular updates to stakeholders.
    • Ensure project milestones and deliverables are achieved efficiently within defined timescales.
  • Operations
    • Configuration:
      • Manage the IP addressing plan and router configuration changes.
      • Produce and implement device configurations per organization standards.
      • Program and enhance monitoring solutions to automate tasks.
      • Perform capacity planning and monitor alerts.
    • Change Management:
      • Adhere to the change management process, design reviews, and client interactions.
    • Support:
      • Resolve complex network issues/outages and communicate root‑cause and remediation plans.
      • Provide network operational support in a follow‑the‑sun framework, including weekday and weekend on‑call rotations.
      • Coordinate with infrastructure, application teams and service providers to validate support approach.
      • Engage with partners to ensure service and user experience.
      • Embrace new technologies to improve the current suite of network tools and services.
      • Help manage and improve policies surrounding mobile device deployment and remote application access.
Technical Skills Required
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in networking, with strong knowledge of Layer 3 switching, TCP/IP, IP routing (BGP, OSPF, ISIS) and networking standards.
  • Proven track record of plan, design, configuration, project management, implementation and documentation of regional and global networks.
  • Strong knowledge of network security configurations, segmentation, VPNs and hardware/software security platforms.
  • Experience with cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) and the financial nuances between them.
  • Solid troubleshooting skills with carriers, vendors, internal customers and partners.
  • Hands‑on experience with routing & switching infrastructures, transport technology and network protocols.
  • Operational knowledge of Juniper (EX, QFX), Fortinet (Forti Gate, Forti Manager, SDWAN, Forti Client) and HPE Aruba (Wireless).
  • Expertise in scripting and automation using Python and other Dev Ops languages.
  • Experience with SSLVPN, NGINX, Netbox, Manage Engine OpManager, Clear Pass, Service Now and Team Dynamix preferred.
  • Knowledge of centralized IPT/VoIP/mobile data desirable.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technology and concepts.
  • Experience delivering PowerPoint presentations to technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills.

Education
  • 10 years of relevant experience or equivalent education and work experience.
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Telecoms or Information Technology.
  • Network certification (Juniper, Cisco, Fortinet, HPE Aruba) and Python PCAP preferred.
  • Regular participation in training, conferences, seminars and professional development.
  • Background in ITIL, SDLC or similar process‑oriented framework preferred.
