St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is seeking a highly skilled Senior Infrastructure Engineer with strong Windows platform expertise, complemented by working knowledge of Linux systems. This role is heavily focused on Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365, while also supporting Azure cloud services and hybrid infrastructure environments. The ideal candidate is a hands‑on engineer with a passion for automation, system reliability, and operational excellence, who is comfortable working across on‑premises and cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Windows, Identity, and Collaboration Services (Primary Focus) — Design, administer, and optimize Windows Server environments across on‑premises and cloud platforms.
  • Manage and support Active Directory (on‑prem and hybrid), including Group Policy, identity lifecycle, and authentication services.
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft 365 services (Azure AD/Entra , Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Support and enhance hybrid identity integrations between on‑prem AD and Azure.
  • Cloud Infrastructure (Azure) — Manage and support Azure infrastructure and services in a hybrid environment.
  • Implement and optimize Azure‑based solutions for scalability, resiliency, and operational efficiency.
  • Partner with cloud and platform teams to align infrastructure with enterprise standards.
  • Server Infrastructure (Secondary Focus) — Provide administration and support for Linux server environments (RHEL, Ubuntu, etc.) as a complementary skill set.
  • Ensure system security, performance, and availability across both Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Automation & Infrastructure as Code — Develop and maintain automation using tools such as Power Shell (primary), Ansible, Terraform, and scripting languages (Python/Bash).
  • Apply Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles to enable consistent, repeatable deployments.
  • Continuously improve provisioning, configuration, and operational workflows through automation.
  • Troubleshooting & Reliability — Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure issues across Windows, Azure, and hybrid environments.
  • Implement proactive monitoring, alerting, and maintenance strategies to improve system reliability.
  • Security & Compliance — Implement security best practices to protect systems and sensitive data.
  • Ensure infrastructure complies with applicable security, regulatory, and organizational standards.
  • Collaboration & Operations — Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable IT services.
  • Participate in on‑call rotations and incident response efforts.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Minimum Education and/or Training
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field of study required.
  • Master's degree preferred.
Minimum Experience
  • Four (4) years of IT experience with experience in infrastructure operations and engineering environments.
  • Experience in infrastructure design, systems analysis, and security management.
  • Some experience working with commercial models around infrastructure capacity procurement.
  • Experience in customer service and vendor management.
  • Some experience in business stakeholder engagement and management.
  • Proven performance in earlier role/comparable role.
Core Qualifications
  • Highly Preferred Expert‑level experience with Windows Server administration.
  • Strong experience with Active Directory and Microsoft 365.
  • Hands‑on experience with Azure in a hybrid environment.
  • Proven experience with automation and IaC (Power Shell highly preferred; Ansible/Terraform preferred).
  • Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new technologies quickly.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Preferred / Secondary Working knowledge of Linux server administration.
  • Experience with Bash and Python scripting.
  • Familiarity with security and compliance frameworks.
