Description
Provides legal counsel and advice to the corporation and its subsidiaries. Ensures their effective operation in accordance with federal, state and local laws.
Essential Functions- Provide legal counsel, advice, review and direction to various departments and members of management on all levels in regard to regulatory affairs and environmental issues.
- Ensure company compliance with all applicable federal, state & local commercial regulations & ensure that all legal obligations of the company are properly recognized & carried out.
- Stay abreast of existing & new regulations & review, analyze & provide comments to notices of proposed rule makings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Juris Doctorate degree from an Accredited Bar Association (ABA). Accredited law school and admission to the bar. Superior academic record.
Minimum ExperienceSix (6) years of experience and demonstrated competence as a practicing attorney in a relevant area of law.
Knowledge, skills, and abilitiesAbility to determine appropriateness of settlement or litigation. Excellent research and writing skills. Strong negotiation, human relations and communications skills.
Preferred QualificationsEmployment litigation, class action and eDiscovery experience preferred.
