Responsibilities
- Coordinate the documentation required by US Customs/Government Agencies for entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers.
- Provide impeccable customer service.
- Process commodities identified as requiring specialized processing to reduce risks and penalties through classification and proper duty preference applications.
- Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release from databases, SOPs, tariff books, the internet, or customs.
- Enter and process various import‑related documentation for submission to US Customs and handle all participating Government Agencies (PGA’s).
- Maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with all record‑keeping requirements.
- Adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations.
- Work closely with internal staff, departments, other Fed Ex opcos, customers, and government agencies to deliver a high level of service to customers.
- Process agency brokerage shipments.
- Handle remote filings.
- Perform entry reconciliations as needed.
- Ensure all government and organizational policies are followed.
- Follow up on customs matters and resolve problems.
- Perform entry reviews as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned (paid training provided).
- High school diploma or GED required. Minimum of 12 months of industry experience preferred. Minimum of 6 months of work experience required.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience using computer systems in a professional, educational, or comparable environment with routine data entry, document creation, navigation of standard software applications, and operation of basic office equipment.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
- Problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to handle a high volume of work and time‑sensitive tasks.
- Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Ability to use multiple systems and reference materials.
- Ability to interact with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, internal staff, managers at all levels, and internal departments.
- Knowledge of customs regulations and harmonized tariff schedules preferred.
Position is hybrid. Must live within a 50‑mile radius of Memphis, TN.
Pay and BenefitsPay Transparency: This compensation range is provided as a reasonable estimate of the current starting salary range for this role across all potential locations. Actual starting pay would be determined by experience relative to the job, market level, pay at the location for this job, and other job‑related factors permitted by law. An employee may be eligible for additional pay, premiums, or bonus potential.

Pay: $21.14 - $29.59 per hour
Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 am – 2:30 pm (Hybrid)
