Overview

Responsible for coordination of the documentation required by US Customs/Government Agencies for entry of goods into the US on behalf of importers.

Responsibilities
  • Provide impeccable customer service.
  • Process commodities identified for specialized processing to reduce risk of penalties.
  • Obtain correct classification of goods for customs release from database, SOPs, tariff book, internet or customs.
  • Data entry and processing of various import related documentation for submission to US Customs and may handle all PGA's.
  • Maintain and keep current all shipment documentation in compliance with all record keeping requirements.
  • Adhere to all international importing and exporting regulations.
  • Work closely with other internal staff, departments, other Fed Ex opcos, customers and government agencies to deliver high level of service.
  • Process agency brokerage shipments.
  • Manage remote filings.
  • Perform entry reconciliations, reviews, and entry reviews as needed.
  • Ensure all government and organizational policies are followed.
  • Follow up on Customs matters and resolve problems.
Qualifications and Experience
  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 6 months’ work experience required; 12 months of industry experience preferred.
  • Data entry/keyboard experience required.
  • MS Office and Outlook competency; familiarity with office equipment (phone, fax, photocopier, printer, scanner).
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
  • Organizational skills, interpersonal skills, problem solving skills.
  • Ability to manage high volume of work and handle time-sensitive tasks.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to use multiple systems and reference material.
  • Interact with customers, carriers, brokers, government agencies, internal staff, management of all levels, internal departments.
  • Knowledge of customs regulations and harmonized tariff schedules preferred.
  • CCS and/or broker license preferred.
  • Experience in a production driven environment with quotas preferred.
  • Shift: Tuesday - Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm;
    Saturdays 1:00pm – 9:30pm.
  • HYBRID:
    Must live within a 50‑mile radius; training and onsite work for up to 6 months followed by work‑from‑home options.
Salary and Benefits

Pay: $21.14 per hour.
