We support 20,000+ Class 1 & 2 vehicles that power our stores, deliveries, and customer service every day. This team blends logistics, vendor coordination, data insights, and hands‑on problem solving to keep Auto Zone moving.
Role at a GlanceAs a Fleet Coordinator, you’ll be at the center of Auto Zone’s fleet ecosystem. You’ll work with systems like Wheels Fleetview, Geo Tab telematics, and Auto Zone’s internal platforms to track vehicles, coordinate repairs, manage inventory, and support field teams across the country. Think of this role as part analyst, part communicator, part logistics expert — all focused on keeping our fleet efficient, safe, and reliable.
You’ll juggle multiple priorities, collaborate with a wide network of partners, and become a go‑to resource for fleet operations.
- Fleet Management — Support the operation of ~20,000 Class 1 & 2 vehicles across the Auto Zone network.
- Wheels Fleetview Expertise — Learn and become the subject‑matter expert for the Wheels Fleet Management system.
- Vehicle Ordering & Transfers — Manage new vehicle orders, transfers, and lifecycle updates.
- Repair & Rental Coordination — Oversee mechanical, collision, and rental requests to keep vehicles on the road.
- Telematics Oversight — Monitor telematics reports, assist with device installation, enrollment, troubleshooting, and ordering.
- Field & Vendor Collaboration — Maintain strong relationships with field teams, dealerships, transportation brokers, and fleet vendors.
- Inventory Management — Track vehicle inventory and serve as the liaison between dealerships and transport partners.
- Fuel Card Administration — Manage fuel card procedures, usage, and auditing.
- Auto Zone Systems Knowledge — Learn internal systems including CRM, KPI reporting tools, and the Auto Zone intranet.
- Ad Hoc Support — Respond to field requests and vendor needs as they arise.
- One Year of Experience — At least one year of experience in fleet operations, logistics, transportation, or a related field.
- Advanced Computer Skills — Strong Microsoft Office experience, especially Excel.
- Clear Communication — Confident verbal and written communication across teams and vendors.
- Multitasking Ability — Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast‑moving environment.
- Fleet Operations Experience — Background in large‑scale fleet operations is highly preferred.
- Telematics Experience — Familiarity with Geo Tab or similar platforms.
- Vendor Management Skills — Experience coordinating with dealerships, brokers, or repair networks.
- Data Reporting Skills — Ability to interpret KPIs and operational data.
- Process Improvement Mindset — A knack for spotting inefficiencies and proposing solutions.
