- Procure raw materials and components, with a focus on copper, steel, and other metal commodities, to support NPI and production schedules
- Collaborate with Planning and Operations teams to ensure material availability aligns with demand forecasts and capacity plans
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules to optimize cost, quality, and supply continuity
- Monitor supplier performance and proactively resolve issues related to delivery, quality, capacity, or service
- Maintain accurate purchasing data and transactions within ERP systems, including SAP
- Analyze and manage inventory levels to support production while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory
- Support new product introduction (NPI) activities by ensuring timely material sourcing and supplier readiness
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance purchasing processes, supplier performance, and operational efficiency
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders across the organization
- Monitor commodity markets and industry trends to identify potential risks and opportunities related to cost and supply
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procurement procedures, and ethical sourcing standards
- Comply with all company security policies and procedures
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment required
- Experience procuring metals or commodity-based materials preferred
- Experience supporting NPI, supply chain, or production operations preferred
- Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be considered
- Strong understanding of purchasing, procurement, and supply chain management principles
- Experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other business software tools
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interpret demand forecasts and align purchasing strategies with business requirements
- Knowledge of supplier relationship management and performance evaluation
- Ability to analyze market trends and commodity pricing to support sourcing decisions
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross‑functional teams including Planning, Operations, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain.
