St. Jude Children’s GMP is seeking a Senior
Materials Handler who is responsible for performing critical materials handling activities within a GMP manufacturing environment. This role supports the receipt, inspection, labeling, release, storage, inventory control, and distribution of materials in compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), current Good Tissue Practices (cGTP), and Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy (FACT) standards.
The successful candidate will ensure complete material traceability, maintain accurate inventory records, support production operations, and contribute to the continuous improvement of materials management processes. Issues supplies to production personnel and maintains accurate records using inventory control logs and the electronic inventory management system to ensure full traceability and history from initial receipt to final use. Performs cycle counts to assess inventory accuracy.
Orders supplies using electronic inventory management system. Writes, revises, and reviews documents related to the materials management job function including release records and standard operating procedures (SOPs). Ships GMP products domestically and internationally using approved couriers.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized and detail-oriented professional with hands‑on inventory and warehouse experience. They are comfortable working with data, reports, and inventory systems, possess strong Microsoft Excel skills, and can effectively balance multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting. Success in this role requires excellent communication, a quality‑focused mindset, and the ability to work collaboratively while maintaining compliance and accuracy.
Job Responsibilities:Receive, inspect, and release and stock incoming materials according to material storage requirements, permitting easy retrieval and accurate inventory reconciliation.
File/ scan spec sheets, releases records, and certificates of analysis received with incoming supplies and components to permit traceability.
Fill material orders for production personnel following “First-In, First-Out” for issuance of controlled inventory.
Maintain accurate inventory records, ensuring all inventory transactions are correctly recorded on inventory control logs.
Follow current Good Manufacturing Practices regulations, per current Good Tissue Practices regulations and the standards from the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellularly Therapy when delivering, replenishing and reconciling inventory.
Issue supplies to production personnel and ensure full traceability and history of inventory control logs from initial receipt to final use.
Write and revise documents related to the materials management job function including release records and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
- High School Diploma/ GED required.
- 5+ years of Material Management experience required.
- Experience in a cGMP-environment preferred.
- Some experience in shipping, receiving, warehouse or related fields preferred.
Experience:
- Experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, materials handling, or supply chain activities.
- Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working with inventory databases, ERP systems, or electronic inventory management systems.
- Strong numerical, data-entry, and clerical skills with a high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and listening skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
