Position

Summary

The purpose of the Sr. Manager of Supply Chain COE is to lead Buckman Chemicals’ North America Supply Chain Center of Excellence as an enterprise operating-system owner for end-to-end process governance, capability development, SAP-enabled ways of working, master data management, analytics, and control discipline. This role establishes enforceable standards and transformation roadmaps that shape how supply chain work is designed, executed, measured, audited, and improved across sites, functions, manufacturing locations, warehouses, tollers, and supply chain partners.

The role exists to deliver measurable business outcomes in service reliability, inventory accuracy, working capital, logistics cost, cost-to-serve, planning adherence, manufacturing execution, productivity, compliance, and audit readiness. Core

Purpose
  • Govern End-to-End Supply Chain Processes: Own, approve, enforce, and audit process standards, decision rights, role-based job scripts, controls, and continuous improvement roadmaps across E2E supply chain workflows.
  • Build Supply Chain Capability: Develop training, role-based learning paths, certification readiness, and sustainment routines aligned with APICS/ASCM, SCOR, Gartner, and other recognized professional standards.
  • Strengthen SAP and Systems Discipline: Translate business processes into clear SAP transaction guidance, job scripts, controls, data requirements, and adoption standards for each Buckman Operations role.
  • Govern Master Data and Analytics: Establish data ownership, quality standards, dashboards, KPI definitions, and analytics routines that provide trusted information for planning, logistics, inventory, procurement, tolling, and manufacturing decisions.
Ensure Audit Readiness and Operational Control:

Provide central governance over annual inventory auditing processes and related SAP controls to ensure compliance, accuracy, and repeatable execution.

Key Outcomes/Responsibilities

Outcome: A governed, documented, enforceable, and continuously improved E2E Supply Chain operating model that improves service reliability, inventory accuracy, working capital, logistics cost, planning adherence, productivity, and compliance across North America.
Actions:

  • Define and maintain standard process architecture, ownership, handoffs, controls, and performance expectations across Plan, Source, Make, Deliver, Return, and Enable processes.
  • Lead governance routines that prioritize process issues, approve standards, remove conflicting practices, and convert recurring problems into improvement projects.
  • Use APICS/ASCM, SCOR, Gartner, Lean, and continuous improvement practices to benchmark current ways of working and close capability or process maturity gaps.

Outcome: Role-based SAP job scripts and systems guidance are complete, current, adopted, and embedded into daily Supply Chain and Operations work.
Actions:

  • Own the central library of SAP job scripts, transaction guides, role-based process maps, and work instructions required for each Buckman Operations role to perform its job.
  • Partner with IT, process owners, and functional leaders to ensure job scripts reflect approved business processes, system configuration, compliance controls, and data requirements.
