Position: Area Manager, New Site

Here at Amazon we're currently hiring for experienced Area Managers to join our Customer Fulfillment team for the upcoming launch of our brand new Fulfillment Center in Horsley Park.

As an Area Manager, you'll be directly responsible for leading and developing a team of Amazon associates in areas such as receive, stow, pick, pack or ship, continuously improving delivery processes to ensure orders are delivered quickly, accurately and cost‑effectively.

The shift pattern is 4 days on and 3 days off.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Leading and developing a team of Amazon associates.
  • Maintaining Health and Safety standards within your remit area and promoting a culture of health and safety onsite.
  • Developing performance goals and objectives to meet customer promise expectations and ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Collaborating with support teams including Safety, Engineering, Loss Prevention, Quality Assurance, Human Resources to develop plans to meet business objectives.
  • Partnering with management to establish and maintain quality control standards.
  • Reviewing work forecasts and determining requirements to produce during the day to meet overall building objectives.

About the team

Our World‑Wide Operations network delivers millions of packages and smiles to Amazon customers every day. Our operation’s workflow has three major components:
First mile – where the product is housed and ready for order;
Middle mile – where the order is hauled to your area; and Last mile – when the product is delivered to the customer’s door. While workflows vary slightly, our vision and dedication to the customer remain constant.

Basic Qualifications
  • Working experience in Operations, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a related field.
  • Experience as a manager, involving sizable teams; natural at motivating others and building strong relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability in problem‑solving and analytical capabilities, including conducting and driving Dive Deep analysis on complex processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Work a flexible shift/work area, which may include days, nights and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Direct management experience for employees and their performance.
  • Experience with performance metrics and process improvement.
  • Flexibility to work weekends and/or shifts regularly.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office applications, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or equivalent qualification.
