Chief Administrative & Finance Officer

Position Summary

The Chief Administrative & Finance Officer (CAFO) serves as a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for aligning strategy, operations, financial stewardship, and organizational performance across Christ Community Health Services (CCHS). Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, the CAFO functions as the organization's Integrator, ensuring that the vision established by leadership is translated into effective execution, accountability, and measurable outcomes.

This position oversees all finance, revenue cycle, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and business analytics functions while coordinating cross-functional initiatives to improve operational effectiveness, patient access, financial sustainability, and mission impact. The CAFO serves as the primary leader responsible for integrating people, processes, priorities, and resources across the organization.

• Serve as the operational Integrator for the organization, ensuring execution of strategic priorities and Board-approved initiatives.
• Partner closely with the CEO and Executive Leadership Team to establish organizational goals, priorities, and performance measures.
• Drive accountability across leadership teams by monitoring key performance indicators and organizational scorecards.
• Facilitate effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving among departments and service lines.
• Lead enterprise-wide planning, implementation, and change management initiatives.
• Align resources, staffing, and operational processes with strategic objectives.
• Identify organizational obstacles and coordinate solutions that improve efficiency, effectiveness, and patient outcomes.

• Direct all financial operations including accounting, finance, treasury, grants management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Develop and implement financial strategies that support long-term organizational sustainability.
• Present monthly financial statements and performance reports to Executive Leadership, Finance Committee and the Board of Directors.
• Ensure compliance with HRSA, FQHC, federal, state, and local financial regulations.
• Oversee annual operating and capital budget development.
• Monitor cash flow, liquidity, and capital investments.
• Lead financial risk assessment and mitigation efforts.
• Oversee annual audits and maintain strong relationships with auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory agencies.

• Provide executive oversight of revenue cycle management, including:
  • Patient registration
  • Coding
  • Billing
  • Collections
  • Insurance contracting
  • Denial management
  • Patient financial services
• Optimize reimbursement strategies across Medicare, Medicaid, managed care, and commercial payers.
• Monitor provider productivity, clinic financial performance, and operational benchmarks.
• Utilize business intelligence and analytics to support data-driven decision-making.

• Lead enterprise performance management and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Establish metrics and reporting systems to evaluate organizational success.
• Coordinate strategic plan execution and monitor progress toward goals.
• Identify opportunities for operational efficiencies and cost savings while protecting quality and patient experience.
• Support growth initiatives including new service lines, partnerships, acquisitions, and grant opportunities.

• Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, stewardship, innovation, and servant leadership.
• Coach and develop department leaders to strengthen organizational performance.
• Promote employee engagement and alignment with the mission, vision, and values of Christ Community Health Services.
• Model Christian leadership and support the ministry-centered mission of the organization.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field required.
• Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA), Healthcare Administration (MHA), Finance, or related field preferred.
• CPA preferred.

• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible leadership experience in healthcare finance, operations, or executive management.
• Minimum of 5 years in a senior executive leadership role.
• Experience with in an FQHC, community health center, nonprofit healthcare organization, or integrated healthcare system strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success leading organizational transformation, strategic planning, and operational Administrative initiatives.
• Experience overseeing budgets exceeding $20 million preferred.

• Strong understanding of FQHC reimbursement methodologies and HRSA compliance requirements.
• Advanced financial management, forecasting, and business analytics capabilities.
• Knowledge of healthcare operations, revenue cycle management, and value-based care models.
