Hyosung HICO is seeking to fill a Senior Vapor Phase Operator position. The ideal candidate will set up and operate various drying equipment associated with the manufacturing of power transformers.

• Perform any of the Vapor Phase Operator duties and functions along with the following for the vapor phase drying equipment
• Perform programming and scheduling to minimize spoilage, changeovers, and cycle time
• Perform setup and operation of complicated machines and equipment with rigid tolerances
• May determine operation sequences and methods where specifications are imprecise or vague
• Troubleshoot problems with material/parts, prints, equipment or product and aid in the implementation of corrective actions
• Assist in the preparation of work to meet manufacturing and schedule requirements
• Confirm quality criteria is properly inspected, verified and documented during manufacturing to ensure product meets specifications, tolerances, prints and customer order requirements; identify and correct defects appropriately
• Assist with clarification and explanation of complex technical drawings, mechanical prints, electrical schematics, specifications and bills of materials
• Follow and adhere to standard work procedures, sequence of operations and consistently meet manufacturing standards for quality and productivity
• Perform TPM and preventative maintenance tasks on equipment and machines
• Practice 6S and comply with all safety rules, guidelines and safe working practices
• Safely operate material handling and lifting equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, motorized scissor lifts and work platforms
• Assist in advanced training of new employees including improving individual skills as well as assisting in the development of training materials
• Actively assist in troubleshooting and implementation of corrective actions
• Assist other manufacturing areas as needed
• Understand and work under the direction of the appropriate Hyosung HICO policy and/or procedure
• Know Hyosung HICO’s Quality, Safety and Environmental Policies. Be able to fully discuss the importance of these policies and how they impact work

• Conduct on-the-job training for others and assist in training new employees
• Help in the development of training materials
• Assist Manufacturing Department in continuous improvement projects and tasks
• May provide work leadership, tracking progress, and resolving routine quality, material, maintenance and manufacturing problems within guidelines as needed
• Assist in improving methods, processes, tools, fixtures or quality as required
• Perform other duties as assigned

• High school education or equivalent, plus four years’ prior manufacturing or manufacturing experience, or equivalent education, training and experience
• Advanced mechanical/technical and troubleshooting skills
• Experience reading manufacturing drawings/specifications, prints or work instructions
• Developed math and geometry skills
• Knowledge and use of basic industrial measuring tools
• Developed skills in the proper use of various hand and power tools
• Basic computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products and understanding of computer applications
