**** Plant Operations Manager Position--Global Manufacturer---Southeast Memphis, TN Area****

One of our very best clients, a global manufacturer with operations across the US (and internationally), needs to hire a Plant Operations Manager for their manufacturing facility in the Southeast Memphis Area.

This position will be onsite at the company's manufacturing site and will report to the VP of Operations (our client's headquarters are based in the southeastern US).

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and direct the daily workflow of company operations including the following functions/departments: manufacturing and test, inventory management (ERP system), warehouse, manufacturing engineering, scheduling, shipping and receiving.
  • Focuses particular attention on the operations functions, leading the organization to strive for world-class status in the Quality, Delivery and Cost areas; analyzes production capabilities and, as necessary, redefines goals and objectives to improve quality, efficiency, on-time delivery and plant profitability.
  • Develop and motivate plant staff, including supervisors and managers, providing performance feedback and goal setting.
  • Manages annual business plan and strategy that meets both the financial “top line” and “bottom line” objectives consistent with the strategic initiatives of company’s business unit.
  • Leads operations teams in the implementation of lean/continuous improvement methods (and building the culture) while continually looking for opportunities to instill the core values of the company through the use of lean/CI tools.
  • Proven leader of continuous improvement and strong hands‑on knowledge of Lean practices to include 5S, Daily Management, Kaizen events, Standard Work, Visual Management, Problem Solving (A3, RCCA), Value Stream Flow, and Production Planning (Kanban, Heijunka, level-loading).
  • Ensure that all customer quality objectives and requirements are met or exceeded.
  • Collaborates with other company manufacturing sites to carry out the organizations’ goals and objectives.
  • Identifies and leads Lean implementation and Continuous Improvement processes, technologies, and systems to improve and streamline organizational processes and use of resources and materials.
  • Ensures that departmental decisions and project plans such as those for staffing, development, organization, material efficiency, hardware acquisitions, and facilities are in line with the organization’s business plan and vision.
  • Establishes, communicates, and implements operations‑related policies, practices, standards, and security measures to ensure effective and consistent support and execution.
  • Develops, approves, and monitors schedules for all large orders/projects.
  • Coordinates all production planning and material planning activities to ensure schedules are met or exceeded.
  • Interfaces with customers during project reviews and plant tours.
  • Works in close collaboration with QA Management to ensure all quality processes are adhered to.
  • Works in close collaboration with engineering team to ensure a smooth handoff of new product manufacturing during the initial pilot production phase.
  • Presents periodic performance reports and metrics/KPI’s to top management – link KPI’s to value drivers of the company and ensure each have Targets to Improve via Daily Management rigor and cadence.
  • Maintains knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in operations management.
  • Identifies training needs and ensures proper training is developed and provided.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong supervisory and leadership skills
  • Extensive knowledge of the principles, procedures, and best practices in the industry
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in supplier management and best practices
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills / Strong Process Methodology is required.
  • Experience in the production of filtration products (Filter tubes, strainer, press cloth, disk, etc.) – nice to have.
  • Experience with ERP systems for material planning, production planning, and progress tracking.
  • Experience managing a team with 3‑5 direct reports and 100+ overall employees of various disciplines.
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Logistics, Engineering, or other industry‑related field required.
  • 7 to 10 years of manufacturing experience, (3) years in upper management preferred.
Compensation:
  • $125K to $150K plus bonus
  • Matching 401‑K Plan
