Job Description /ResponsibilitiesThe duty of the General Laborer is to work and assist in any operation on the log yard, stave storage yard. Load/Unload log trucks, Load/Unload Dry Kilns, Assist Log buyers, Pull Log Tags and feed Stave Mill, Assist in all Environmental Clean‑up duties, Load/Unload By‑Products, Assist Kiln Manager, assist in all aspects of handling inventory, Assist in Dry Kiln Operation. Position involves all aspects of “yard” duties.
Preferred 2 years’ experience with a wheel loader or heavy equipment.
Current Shift
: 2nd Shift - 5:00pm-3:30am
Starting Pay
: $18/hr + shift differential
MUST
- Stand long periods of time
- Must be able to bend, stretch, twist, pull, push, climb a few steps, eye‑hand coordination, grade the wood for defects, use hands for grabbing and wrists for rotating
- Using tools such as tape measures and crayons
- Ability to work in variable weather conditions, including cold and hot/humid conditions
- Must have a High school diplomar or GED
- Must be able to pass a Drug screen & background check
