Essential Functions
- Perform manufacturing tasks such as loading and unloading machinery and operating non‑CNC equipment, gluing and clamping machines, painting equipment, simple test and measurement equipment, and oil‑filling equipment.
- Assemble or disassemble parts or units, positioning, aligning, and fastening them to assemblies, sub‑assemblies, or frames using hand tools and power hand tools per product specifications.
- Measure and adjust parts with scales, calipers, and micrometers.
- Inspect, verify, and document quality criteria during manufacturing to ensure units meet exact specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.
- Connect, crimp, solder, and braze internal leads and product wiring using pneumatic tools, electric and gas torch brazing equipment.
- Wrap, tape, or insulate leads and wires according to work instructions.
- Perform electrical tests to confirm proper wiring and insulation per specification.
- Read prints, Bill of Materials, specifications, and work instructions to determine proper component parts for processing, assembly, and installation.
- Disassemble units to replace parts or package units for shipping.
- Fabricate wooden parts, fixtures, and packaging for delivery of units to customers.
- Operate equipment to perform vacuuming, oil‑filling, and recovery correctly and safely.
- Clean and lubricate parts and sub‑assemblies as required.
- Safely move, handle, and store materials without damage.
- Follow and adhere to standard work procedures, sequence of operations, and consistently meet manufacturing standards for quality and productivity.
- Perform TPM tasks as directed for each job or area.
- Practice 6S and adhere to all safety rules, guidelines, and safe working practices.
- Safely operate material‑handling and lifting equipment such as overhead cranes, forklifts, pallet jacks, motorized scissors lifts, and work platforms as required.
- Assist in training new employees, improving their skills, and developing training materials.
- Assist in troubleshooting and implementing corrective actions.
- Assist other manufacturing areas as needed.
- Support and assist the Manufacturing Supervisor or Manager as required.
- Understand and work under the direction of the appropriate Hyosung HICO policies and procedures.
- Know Hyosung HICO’s Quality and Environmental Policies and be able to discuss their importance and impact on work.
- Perform basic preventative maintenance and TPM on equipment and machines.
- Assist with completing process check sheets and verifying the work of other employees according to company procedures.
- Assist in troubleshooting and implementing corrective actions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school education or equivalent plus two years’ experience, or equivalent education, training, and experience.
- Developed mechanical or technical skills.
- Experience using various hand and power tools.
- Ability to read manufacturing drawings, specifications, prints, or work instructions.
- Developed math and practical geometry skills.
- Basic computer skills with emphasis on MS Office products and understanding of computer applications.
- Knowledge and use of basic industrial measuring tools.
- Ability to safely and correctly use hand and power tools and measurement devices.
- Ability to work at elevated heights and climb stairs.
- Ability to inspect work.
- Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
- Ability to judge the quality of work produced compared to established standards, drawings, and instructions.
- Ability to operate powered equipment such as forklift and overhead crane.
- Ability to work in normal indoor temperatures.
- Stand and walk a minimum of 6–8 hours per day.
- Ability to sit, squat, bend, stretch, twist, crawl, kneel, and reach above the shoulders as required to perform essential job functions.
- Ability to work in confined spaces.
- Ability to climb and work up to 20 feet off the ground for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 35 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds.
