Packer C

The Packaging Technician is responsible for the proper identification of slit rolls and to ensure each roll is packed and labeled according to the customer specifications. They are also responsible for the proper use of packaging equipment, the preventive maintenance, and housekeeping of the equipment and the area.

• Verify customer requirements by reviewing the setup
• Identify exception codes and use the proper packing supplies
• Print labels at the packaging station and verify roll data for each finished roll coming off the conveyors
• Perform basic troubleshooting of conveying systems
• Operate the packaging crane safely and in a controlled manner
• Enter data into the computer at the packing station and at the stretch‑wrapping station
• Operate the stretch‑wrapper in both automatic and manual modes
• Weigh the finished pallet and properly apply the label to the pallet while verifying data
• Maintain good housekeeping and a safe working environment
• Interact and communicate with fellow packers, production supervisors, lead technicians, and slitting technicians as required
• Operate a forklift and stack material using a forklift
• Use the clamp truck
• Assist in any function of the slitting department as requested by the lead operator or supervisor

• Manufacturing environment
• Ability to work in varying temperatures (cold and hot)
