The Welder fabricates and repairs metal components by applying various welding techniques to support production and construction goals. This role ensures high-quality welds that meet safety and industry standards, contributing to the organization’s operational efficiency. The welder works with production teams to deliver durable and precise metalwork for frames and other projects as assigned. This position is required to contribute to a positive work environment focused on Safety, Quality, Productivity, and cost.
KeyAccountability areas:
- Perform welding tasks (70%):
Apply welding techniques to join or repair metal parts in shop or field settings daily, following blueprints to meet project specifications. - Inspect and maintain equipment (10%):
Check welding tools and machinery regularly to ensure safe operation, performing minor repairs as needed to maintain functionality. - Read and interpret technical drawings (10%):
Analyze blueprints and work orders to determine welding requirements, selecting appropriate materials and jigs to meet quality requirements. - Coordinate with production teams (10%):
Communicate with Team Leader to align tasks with production timelines, ensuring efficient workflow. - Ensure compliance with safety standards (100%):
Follow Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations and company protocols, conduct quality checks to verify weld integrity.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent - Experience:
At least 2 years’ experience of welding, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing setting or applicable vocational school training. - Strong knowledge of welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and arc welding.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications accurately.
- Ability to read a tape measure in inches, fractions, and millimeters.
- Ability to weld stainless steel.
- Strong attention to detail for ensuring weld quality.
- Basic communication skills for team coordination.
- Ability to help foster and manage change to support continuous improvement.
- Must pass a hands‑on welding test prior to employment.
