Manager, Engineering

Job Description

Coordinates and directs activities of the Manufacturing Engineering team. Works together with other departmental managers to coordinate efforts between departments. Responsible for identifying inefficiencies in manufacturing process, capacity, and effectiveness and for working with the Manufacturing Engineering team to devise solutions to those inefficiencies.

• Support Manufacturing Engineers in their efforts to solve manufacturing process related issues.
• Communicate effectively with other departmental managers to maintain strong working relationships between departments.
• Perform timekeeping, performance reviews, administer disciplinary actions, and coordinate engineers’ skills development.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Engineering degree in a related field or equivalent.
• 5-10 years of industrial manufacturing experience or equivalent in a related industry.
• Proficiency in business software suites such as MS Office/Outlook and MS Project.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong communication skills.
• Understanding of project management and manufacturing principles.
• Ability to mentor the engineering team.
• Recommend measures to improve methods, performance, and quality.
• Comfortable and confident working with OEMs to resolve equipment/process issues.

• Be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Be able to stand or walk for up to 95% of the normal work shift.
• Be able to work in conditions below 32°F and/or above 90°F as the situation dictates.
