Maintenance Technician
Aerotek is hiring a maintenance technician for a manufacturing facility in the south Memphis area. This is a 6 month contract to hire opportunity paying $28-$34/hr depending on experience.
Shift: 2nd (3pm-11pm Monday-Friday), will train on 1st shift for the first couple weeks (7am-3pm). Overtime after shift and on weekends as needed.
Job DescriptionThe Maintenance Technician plays a key role in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting high-speed packaging and production equipment in an industrial manufacturing environment. This role focuses on both mechanical and electrical maintenance, including work with drives, motors, controls, and production lines.
Responsibilities- Install new production lines and components, including AC inverters, drives, and control panels.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues on high-speed packaging and manufacturing equipment.
- Disassemble equipment for maintenance, repair, or inspection and reassemble it to proper operating condition.
- Break down and rebuild valves and related components to ensure reliable operation.
- Diagnose issues using schematics and technical documentation and determine the appropriate corrective actions.
- Perform multi-craft maintenance work involving hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, controls, gearboxes, and circuits.
- Carry out repairs that may include basic welding or other fabrication tasks when required to restore equipment functionality.
- Support continuous production by responding promptly to equipment breakdowns and minimizing downtime.
- Collaborate with production staff to identify equipment issues and implement effective maintenance solutions.
- Follow safety procedures and maintenance best practices while working with electrical and mechanical systems.
- Minimum of 3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills on production and packaging equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics accurately.
- Demonstrated multi-craft maintenance abilities, including hydraulics, pneumatics, motors, controls, gearboxes, and circuits.
- Hands-on experience working with drives, motors, and control systems.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing issues on high-speed packaging equipment.
- Comfort working with both electrical and mechanical systems, including disassembly and reassembly of equipment.
- Strong electrical and PLC-related knowledge, particularly important during initial first-shift training.
- Ability to perform repairs that may involve basic welding or fabrication tasks when necessary.
- Solid problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently to determine and implement needed repairs.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a soap, food, or similar manufacturing environment is beneficial.
- Familiarity with industrial control panels and AC inverters.
- Experience in maintaining valves and fluid handling systems.
- Experience with high-speed, continuous production lines and packaging machinery.
- Comfort working in environments where certain areas may affect individuals with allergies.

Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $34.00/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
