Material Handler
Kitting Lead (Weekend 2nd Shift)
This weekend 2nd shift Kitting Lead role focuses on accurately breaking down and organizing kits of bolts, screws, panels, and related components in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You will ensure parts are counted correctly, packaged efficiently, and moved safely, while using warehouse tools and scanning equipment to maintain precise inventory control.
Responsibilities- Break down kits into individual components such as bolts, screws, panels, and related hardware according to visual aids and work instructions.
- Count parts effortlessly and accurately to ensure correct quantities for each kit and order.
- Handle and move heavy boxes of screws and other materials, lifting up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Perform material handling tasks, including picking, packing, loading, and kitting items for production and shipment.
- Use scan guns and RF scanners to track inventory, confirm picks, and update warehouse systems.
- Carry out assembly and packaging activities to prepare kits and materials for production lines or customer orders.
- Follow directions and standard operating procedures consistently to maintain quality and safety standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area within the manufacturing and warehouse environment.
- Work the scheduled weekend 2nd shift (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM) and meet productivity and accuracy targets.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to support efficient production and material flow.
- Previous experience in a detail-oriented position, demonstrating strong focus on accuracy and organization.
- Proven ability to count parts and materials quickly and accurately.
- Ability to lift and safely handle items up to 50 lbs, including heavy boxes of screws and other materials.
- Experience with material handling in a production or warehouse environment.
- Hands-on experience with kitting activities, including breaking down and organizing kits.
- Ability to read and understand visual aids and work instructions.
- Capability to follow directions reliably and work within established procedures.
- Experience using scan guns and RF scanners for picking, loading, and inventory tracking.
- Experience in warehouse packing, picking, loading, and packaging operations.
- Strong attention to detail in counting, picking, packing, and loading tasks.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience as a kitter, kitting specialist, or in similar roles within production or warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with assembly processes in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Stable work history and interest in long-term growth opportunities.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, high-volume manufacturing or warehouse setting.
- Ability to work weekend 2nd shift hours (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM).
- Composite safety shoes, as required for the work environment.
- No additional certifications required.

WorkEnvironment

Work takes place in a production and warehouse setting that uses scan guns, RF scanners, and standard material handling equipment. The position follows a weekend 2nd shift schedule (Friday, Saturday, Sunday, 5:00 PM – 5:30 AM). Composite safety shoes are required, and the environment emphasizes cleanliness, safety, and efficiency.
JobType & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Memphis, TN.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.15 - $24.15/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
