About the job Assistant Hatchery Manager Overview
Our client is seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Assistant Hatchery Manager at our facility in Cordova, TN. This position requires a mechanically inclined individual with strong management skills. Fluency in Spanish is preferred due to the diverse nature of our workforce.
CompensationCompetitive salary of $60,000+ based on past experience, plus health coverage for selected individual and dependants. Bonus opportunity based on year-end financials.

Responsibilities- Assist the Hatchery Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations of the hatchery, ensuring efficient production and adherence to quality standards.
- Supervise and train hatchery staff, providing guidance and support to ensure tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
- Perform regular maintenance and repairs on hatchery equipment, utilizing mechanical skills to troubleshoot and resolve issues promptly.
- Monitor hatchery conditions, including temperature, humidity, and ventilation, and implement adjustments as necessary to optimize hatch rates.
- Maintain records related to hatchery operations, including inventory, production data, and employee schedules.
- Coordinate with other departments, such as sales and shipping, to ensure timely delivery of orders and excellent customer service.
- Implement safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements to maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
- Assist in developing and implementing improvement initiatives to enhance hatchery efficiency and productivity.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and repair machinery and equipment.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or management role.
- Fluent in Spanish, with the ability to effectively communicate with Spanish-speaking employees is preferable, but not required.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work extended hours and weekends as needed.
