Mechanical Operator 1st Shift

We are seeking a dedicated Mechanical Operator for the 1st shift to join our team in a dynamic manufacturing environment. This role requires an individual with a strong mechanical aptitude to assist in operating and maintaining various machines and equipment. You will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient production and maintaining high-quality standards.

• Operate packaging, cutter, and press machines, and assist with changeovers and resetting equipment.
• Monitor equipment and observe production throughout the batch process, ensuring compliance with good manufacturing practices (GMP).
• Take ownership of the production process by notifying the warehouse or supervisor of any missing raw materials.
• Package approved batches and accurately label all finished product containers.
• Stock supplies and label containers of raw materials as needed.
• Use equipment in proper working condition and perform routine maintenance as required.
• Clean, sanitize, and inspect tools, pumps, tanks, pipelines, and other equipment.
• Complete end-of-day procedures, including restocking raw materials, housekeeping, and controlling and documenting waste.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to safety regulations and procedures, while understanding the hazards of handling various chemicals.
• Train new operators and perform other work-related duties as assigned.
• Observe all safety rules and procedures, including lock-out tag-out procedures.

• Experience as a machine operator in a manufacturing environment, preferably with GMP experience.
• Proficiency in operating high-speed packaging, filling, capping, labeling, cutting, and pressing machines.
• Ability to manage a production line and efficiently coordinate with team members.
• Mechanical aptitude for handling changeovers, setup, and routine maintenance of machines.

• Experience with heat exchangers and vacuum pumps is advantageous.
• Capability to perform heavy lifting as required by the job.

The position is based in a smaller, temperature-controlled plant where you will be on your feet all day. The environment promotes collaboration and efficiency, with a focus on safety and adherence to manufacturing standards.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of MEMPHIS, TN.

The pay range for this position is $18.63 - $18.63/hr individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
