The Direct Laborer role at Pandrol is a full-time, on-site position based in Memphis, TN. This role involves performing hands-on tasks in a manufacturing or production environment, including operating equipment, assembling components, handling materials, and following standardized work procedures to meet daily production targets. The Direct Laborer will be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work area, adhering to safety and quality guidelines, and reporting any equipment issues or process concerns to supervisors.
Daily activities may include loading and unloading materials, monitoring product quality, performing basic inspections, and completing documentation related to production and safety. The role requires working as part of a team to support efficient workflow and timely completion of orders.
- Ability to perform physical labor tasks such as lifting, standing for extended periods, and using hand and power tools safely.
- Experience in a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment, preferably related to metalworking, assembly, or rail infrastructure.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to learn how to operate production machinery and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to quality standards, and ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately.
- Understanding of workplace safety practices, including PPE use, hazard awareness, and safe material handling.
- Reliable attendance, punctuality, and ability to work assigned shifts, including potential overtime as needed.
- Effective teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate respectfully with colleagues and supervisors.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; relevant vocational or technical training is a plus.
- Willingness to participate in ongoing training and skill development to support process improvements and efficiency.
