Program / Project Manager, Operations Manager
Position Purpose
The Community Engagement Program Manager provides the programmatic and operational support that allows Habitat’s community engagement initiatives to scale effectively. This role coordinates logistics, communication, and systems for affinity builds and corporate engagement, ensuring volunteers and partners experience clear, timely, and consistent support.
The Program Manager plays a critical role in supporting volunteer coordination (in partnership with the Volunteer Engagement Manager), corporate engagement logistics, and special affinity build execution, freeing senior staff to focus on strategy and relationship leadership.
Essential Functions of PositionProgram Coordination & Execution
- Coordinate timelines, calendars, and deliverables for affinity builds and corporate build days
- Manage internal handoffs between Community Engagement, Volunteer Engagement, Events, Construction, and Development
- Support seasonal build planning and execution
- Assist the VP of Brand Strategy with CEOBuild logistics as needed, including coordination, timelines, and cross-team communication
- Assist the Office of the CEO with Global Village (GV) logistics, including scheduling, materials, preparation timelines, and cross-team coordination
- Share oversight responsibility for the volunteer build-site experience in partnership with the Senior Manager of Community Engagement and the Volunteer Engagement Manager
- Coordinate volunteer-related timelines, preparation, and messaging handoffs
- Ensure volunteers receive orientation materials, expectations, and logistics information
- Support issue resolution and experience consistency across build sites
- Serve as a point of contact for routine volunteer and partner questions
- Support corporate and affinity partners with scheduling, preparation, and documentation
- Assist with special affinity build coordination and follow-up
- Ensure partners experience a smooth and professional engagement process
- Maintain playbooks and standard operating procedures for affinity builds
- Track participation, engagement, and retention metrics
- Prepare reports and summaries for leadership and Development
- 3–5 years of experience in program coordination, volunteer management, or nonprofit operations
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
- Comfort supporting multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Detail-oriented with a strong service mindset
- Smooth execution of affinity builds and corporate engagement activities
- Clear, timely communication with volunteers and partners
- Reduced administrative burden on senior staff
- Strong internal coordination and documentation
- Hybrid work environment with in-office expectations for team collaboration, events, and donor engagement
- Must be able to travel locally to donor meetings, build sites, and events
- Occasional lifting of materials under 25 lbs for events and mailings
