POSITION DESCRIPTION

Full or part‑time position for male or female. The person hired will work with young people 9 to 18 years of age. The person will report to the chief Executive Officer and/or his appointee. Full‑time positions are salaried and may include full benefits, such as medical, pension and paid time off

POSITION FOCUS

The Outreach Specialist is responsible to Red Zone Memphis’ Executive Staff to implement the planning, coordination and implementation of Red Zone’s program. The person in this position is expected to promote and develop the outreach efforts among urban young people in the Orange Mound community.

SPECIFIC TASKS I. DIRECT PROGRAM

To coordinate and facilitate youth outreach/recruitment efforts.

To work with the team to plan and administer daily/weekly activities & events.

To attend/participate in community engagement activities as assigned.

Network with churches, faith & community based entities.

II. LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT

A. Network with potential partner

Recruit donors and manage volunteers.
Support marketing efforts of RZ ministry.

Mass communication, e.g., social media content/mailings.

Attend seminars, workshops, training, events, etc.

Attend mission fairs/conference as appropriate/assigned.

Supervision

Accountability: to mission strategy and vision.

Responsible for reporting, monitoring, measuring results, planning

Individualize planning, goal setting and attainment.

III. RELATIONSHIP WITH BOARD

A. Outreach Specialist is to be present at Red Zone board meetings as directed.

IV. REPRESENTING REDZONE MINISTRIES IN THE COMMUNITY

Outreach Specialist will be involved in speaking to various groups, e.g., schools, churches and community organizations, regarding the program.

Outreach Specialist will be involved, under the direction of the Executive staff, in cultivating relationships and developing new contacts with individuals, schools groups, or churches in the community.

Outreach Specialist will have development responsibilities in terms of “fundraising” under the direction of the C.E.O. and Board.
